Run for your Life!

Last week I broke down and attempted running on the treadmill at the gym. I was prepared to run for a few minutes and throw in the towel. I have disliked running all my life even when I was in the Marines and had to do it daily.

Instead – I found I jogged the entire 20 minutes at pace 4! It appears that all those hours on the elliptical and stair stepper seem to have paid off for getting my cardio in shape for this.

Today I jogged at pace 4.6 for 35 minutes. For me it’s all in the music. I listen to the same song on repeat to keep cadence. Some may find that boring, but it really helps me. I’m going to jog more now to mix up the system. So far I have used the elliptical, stair stepper, treadmill for walking and now treadmill for jogging.

Next will be stationary bike in a few months. After that I’ll have to find a swimming pool.
