drugs for rosacea

I went to a GP doctor today and came out with a lot of drugs. I had scheduled an appointment to get on some type of anti-depressant medication and so happened to be sick at the same time. I think I got something while visiting Utah.

He gave me:

Metrogel for my rosacea.
Efexor for depression.
Nexium for heartburn.
Zyrtec for allergies.

I don’t generally suffer from heartburn or allergies much. But it seems I do enough to need to do something about it.

I haven’t ever talked about my rosacea. It’s a face thing. Basically my face gets really red for no reason and sometimes I get really bad blotches of what they call ‘adult acne’. But it is not really acne. I am a textbook case: Fair skin, light eyes and it doesn’t show up until your late 20’s or early 30’s sometimes. And I flush (blush) very easy. So all my life of being shy and blushing has finally caught up with me and I suffer from rosacea because of it. I am not supposed to be in the sun (which is fine) and am not supposed to drink red wine because of it (which sucks). Anyway the site is very informative: rosacea. I figured I had it when I saw the commercials on TV and though “hey – that’s me!” and yep – it is

slytherin pride

Currently in California for work and I miss my husband.

Luke Skywalker was my original hero since I saw Star Wars in the first grade. I’ve loved Legolas since I read LOTR in seventh grade. Then in eleventh grade The Princess Bride came out and I fell for Wesley. The year after I graduated HS I read the Interview with the Vampire books and fell for Lestat. In the Dragonlance world Raistlin was it for me. I also loved Elric of Melnibone… and now Draco Malfoy has my attention.

All my fantasy people are blondes or silver/white platinum blonde. Never… not one boy or girl I went out with in RL was blonde. They were all brunettes. *ponders*

What I was getting at: It is no wonder I fell for my husband. To me, he is every one of my fantasy men combined. Of course he’s a great guy to top it off, too. So I thought I’d share.

We were engaged within a week of meeting each other and married six months after that. Here we are… going on five years with four cats and two birds.

eq2

EverQuest2 was released yesterday. The spouse & I pre-ordered it but the shipments got F$*#d up and it didn’t arrive. However, it is en-route today and should be on our door-step when we get home.

Smallville tonight! YAY! I was IM’ing the spouse, letting him know I’d sacrifice SV tonight and we could watch the recording at a later point during an EQ2 break or something later in the week. yes I’m a gamer geek. He paused for a moment and said “I like to watch Smallville too”. *grin* I almost forget at times that he likes the show.

just breathe

I don’t have asthma. I don’t suffer from allergies.

Last night I woke up at 4am unable to breathe. It was the most… disconcerting feeling I have experienced in my entire life.

My body bolted upright and then I woke up struggling for air. I could feel a blocking in my lungs. I could inhale but no air was getting through it was very raspy. I woke up the spouse and poor guy couldn’t do anything for me except for pat me on the back. That really didn’t help but maybe the fact that he was awake did. It was almost like a panic attack, I think. My body finally calmed down enough to get air passed through to my lungs and then I was able to breathe.

I have a feeling I was in a nightmare and that’s what took my breath away. I tend to remember my nightmares but this one I did not. Now I am very interested to know what happened in my subconscious.
