Eight days since Aslan’s passing. We all miss him. The cats continue to search the house. Meeko has the worse of it. He was always following Aslan around and sleeping on him, ever since he was a baby. This week Meeko has been sleeping in Aslan’s old spots, and is very snugly with me. Poor little guy. [...]

I adopted Aslan when he was 5. He enjoyed life with me from March 1997 – July 29 2009. Aprox 17 years old. I’ll return to write a proper Eulogy for him. Right now I just need to curl up with the other kitties and cry for a while.

Sunday morning S. came over for our Long Run in the trails around where I live. It was a great run! Our overall pace was comparable to our flat-surface pace, maybe about 40 sec under. We ran nine miles through a variation of trails. I was in my KSOs, of course. I hit one rock that [...]

I moved to Washington with my Persian cat, Aslan. Soon we met Joe with his parrots Jackie and Killian, and we became one big happy family. Within a year, Joe suggested that Aslan should have a friend. So in October of 2001 we visited Pet-Smart and adopted a beautiful Himalayan, who we named Sian in [...]

Bye bye 2007. I am not sorry to see you go. The only good thing that came out of you -  is that what you put me through has made me stronger, my marriage more solid, and bridged our communication gaps. We have survived you – we will survive anything else the universe throws our [...]

TMI From Dove. Interesting article on Dove’s campaign. I liked it and enjoyed the videos the author referenced. Especially the one at the end of the article, to whit: Apropos of nothing: We really liked this completely unrelated ad. Reminds us of when Tarantino made good movies. Dale Carnegie Training, indeed. LOL (Actually I highly [...]

July 22 was our 5th year anniversary. To celebrate, we went camping/ORV riding at a State Park in Washington. We got a bit turned around and ended up riding for 6½ hours. I was SO sore the next few days. Regardless, I am now an intermediate/advanced ORV rider after one day!

When I met husband Joe 5½ years ago I was introduced to his ‘flock’ which consisted of himself, Jackie – an Orange Wing Tipped Amazon Parrot, and Killian – a Blue Front Amazon Parrot. They all had moved up here to Washington from Florida. Quite the drive for two parrots! Joe has had Jackie all [...]

It’s been two weeks since my husband quit his job and he is SO happy. Per my insistence he hasn’t even started looking for a new job or considered what type of job he wants to go after. I tell him that he needs to max out his EverQuest 2 character (currently at 46) which [...]

Currently in California for work and I miss my husband. Luke Skywalker was my original hero since I saw Star Wars in the first grade. I’ve loved Legolas since I read LOTR in seventh grade. Then in eleventh grade The Princess Bride came out and I fell for Wesley. The year after I graduated HS I read [...]

Shopping trip was a success! I didn’t freak out either (I really don’t like shopping). Now I must get rid of the clothes I haven’t worn forever. When I returned from my new clothes shopping, my husband snuck a present under a red sweater I bought. It was new earrings. Red rubies. Very dainty and [...]
