Changes are afoot. All good, yet still full of stress in one way or another. I just need to make it through the month and things will get better. Isn’t that what we always say? The sun will some out tomorrow? Regardless, I’ve started running a bit more. I’ve been outside on my trail, and [...]

It’s been a month since Aslan passed, and I still haven’t been able to write up a eulogy for him. I was able to do this for the last two animals in our household, but every time I think of Aslan I start crying again. This is a reminder to myself I still need to [...]
Eight days since Aslan’s passing. We all miss him. The cats continue to search the house. Meeko has the worse of it. He was always following Aslan around and sleeping on him, ever since he was a baby. This week Meeko has been sleeping in Aslan’s old spots, and is very snugly with me. Poor little guy. [...]

Completed my weekly long run Sunday. It was a 14 mile out & back on a paved trail. I wore my KSOs of course. My running partner and I both had a pretty bad week prior. I let her lead the pace because she runs for stress relief. I usually don’t, but had so many [...]

I adopted Aslan when he was 5. He enjoyed life with me from March 1997 – July 29 2009. Aprox 17 years old. I’ll return to write a proper Eulogy for him. Right now I just need to curl up with the other kitties and cry for a while.

Sunday morning S. came over for our Long Run in the trails around where I live. It was a great run! Our overall pace was comparable to our flat-surface pace, maybe about 40 sec under. We ran nine miles through a variation of trails. I was in my KSOs, of course. I hit one rock that [...]

One of my cats is headed into surgery today. She has Feline Corneal Sequestra in her right eye. Her litter-mate brother had the exact same thing in BOTH of his eyes last year, and went through surgery. He recovered well. The cats are now about six years old. It can be contageous but my oldest [...]
I have four indoor cats. One I’ve talked about a lot is Mekare, a four year old Persian who recently went through an illness (she’s better now). To prove to me she’s all better – she brought me a mouse this morning to my bedroom. A dead mouse. My four year old Persian 100% indoor [...]
Mekare is doing better. Her blood levels are getting better and she’s eating some catfood by herself. In fact, since I overslept a bit, Raven tells me that Mekare went downstairs and right up to her desk demanding to be fed! YAY good sign! Today she seems a little droopy because she’s recovering. She didn’t [...]
My baby girl Mekare was diagnosed with Hepatic Lipidosis known as “feline fatty liver syndrome”. She was in the hospital a couple days and now she’s home. This is not related to the recall food. My other 3 cats are fine. It’s just her. The treatment is to force-feed her. I take her back in [...]
